bad friend:

So. . . Crista and I had fun last night. But I forgot to make Crista drink water. Krista and I were watching "Pulp Fiction," so I didn't realize how many bottle of SKYY and Smirnoff Ice Crista had downed. So now she has a huge headache. My bad.

oh yeah: my head is fine.

From my friend Vimbayi:

"As all advocates of feminist politics know most people do not understand sexism or if they do they think it is not a problem. Masses of people think that feminism is always and only about women seeking to be equal to men. And a huge majority of these folks think feminism is anti-male. Their misunderstanding of feminist politics reflects the reality that most folks learn about feminism from patriarchal mass media."

Hello hello. Happy New Year! I feel a tad behind on that comment, but better late than never I suppose.

I was able for the first time to attend the annual Chloe-Katie New Year's Eve party. This year it was at Chloe's house (and here parents were at Mala's house). It was wonderful! I got to see people I haven't seen in ages--Chloe for one, Jeannie, Kim, Kevin Capps and his girlfriend, Kevin Livsey, Wilson, Garrett, Austin, Jake, Chris and Dara (okay, I saw some of these people at Thanksgiving) and MALAVIKA!!! We toasted and cursed and overall had a splendid time. Even Olive the dog liked my hummus.

I stayed at Krista's house and watched "Fever Pitch," "Bend It Like Beckham," and a few episodes of Sports Night. They were all great! Krista has excellent taste.

Week-trip fun note number one: I got to go the resale shop twice and found-- lined wool pants, a long linen shirt, black cordoroys, two tailored shirts, a merino sweater, black dress shoes. All brand names, all for $30.

The other interesting note on my weekend: Katie and I stayed up talking until 6:30 this morning, catching up. It's been far too long.
